Dr. Gregg Kokame, a graduate of Iolani School, has been providing care for Hawaii’s patients with retinal diseases since 1988.  After training at the world’s leading institutions in retinal surgery, Dr. Kokame’s goal has been to provide the most advanced surgical care to Hawaii and our international referrals.

Dr. Kokame is a Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, has been honored in Best Doctors of America and in Honolulu since 1998, and is active in research, authoring over 50 peer reviewed published papers in major ophthalmology journals.   His research programs have brought the most leading and advanced treatments to Hawaii over the past 15 years.  He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, the Retina Society, and the Macula Society.  He has received the Achievement Award and the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Honor and Senior Honor Award from the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Hawaii Ophthalmological Society award in recognition for support of ophthalmic research in Hawaii.
